Terry Cakebread
Retired Vice President North America, LUSASTerry graduated from Southampton University with a BSc Hons in Civil Engineering in 1978. He worked for a contractor as a Site Engineer on many projects, including Tower Bridge. He worked in Qatar from 1982 to 1986 for Kenchington Little (now WSP) as a Senior Engineer, moving on to run the local office and became a Chartered Engineer (MICE). In 1987, in the UK as a Senior Engineer, he was providing advice on in-house computer analysis and design software and sold the in-house developed CAD system and became a Director of that company.
He left in 1996 to join LUSAS, specializing in Finite Element Analysis. Terry brought his expertise in bridge and structural engineering to the business, which he built from nothing in the USA to 1/3rd of total turnover. He retired in May 2023 and has given many lectures as a STEM ambassador since.
