Ignite Session: Rapid Bridge Assessment Using Ambient Vibration Testing

12:40 - 12:45 Ignite Session Inspection & Assessment Monitoring
  • Ambient vibration testing (AVT) uses temporary, high-resolution wireless sensors to measure a bridge’s response under live traffic and extract 3D mode shapes, detecting, locating and quantifying structural anomalies with no permanent installations or structural modifications.
  • This session explores how single-day, non-disruptive assessments and periodic repeat testing can validate repairs and track long-term deterioration to guide maintenance planning.
