John Armitage

John Armitage is a Technical Director in Ramboll’s Bridges team, and leads for Ramboll Transport on design for Modern Methods of Construction.  He has collaborated closely with Laing O’Rourke on development of modular, productised bridge solutions, including delivery of a number of bridges on HS2, and working on the National Highways and Innovate UK project for Digitally Enabled and Assured Productised Bridges. 

John has 28 years of experience on major Design and Build schemes.  He was Structures Lead for the Landside Structures for the Queensferry Crossing and the M9 J1A upgrade, and led Ramboll’s input into the successful tender for the Clyde Waterfront Bridge with Graham Construction.  He was Project Director for the checks of the Northern Spire Bridge, Herring Crossing and Sunderland High Level Footbridge, Structures Lead for the A380 Kingskerswell Bypass and Footbridge Lead for Custom House Crossrail station.
