Meon Ltd | Project Highways Zero

Stand A18
Project Highways Zero started in 2020, a campaign backed by industry experts Meon Ltd, who are passionate on delivering environmentally great surfaces. The project’s main purpose is to highlight how carbon savings can be made with line marking and surface repairs across our highways infrastructure. A key milestone in the project was the completion of the first independently verified white paper looking into line marking. This study showed that it's possible to reduce net carbon consumption by up to 10 times (by over 1500 kilos of carbon per km) through the use of cold line marking materials and electric application equipment. Added benefits include improved durability for cost savings and higher retained reflectivity for better safety for road users. This is underpinned by the fundamental elements that all line marking and surface repair systems used on the UK should have a focus around: SAFETY I DURABILITY I SUSTAINABILITY If you are interested in finding out more, please join us by following our campaign! When you think about repairing roads the right way, this can mean many things. The focus point is on the importance of the elements and layers that make up the Iron Works reinstatement system.
PermaFyx L273 Permanent Asphalt Repair
PermaFyx L273 Permanent Asphalt Repair
PermaFyx L273 is a permanent asphalt repair product based on high-performance cold applied MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) resin which will outlast the surrounding substrate. This is the perfect solution for small defect repairs such as potholes and ironwork surrounds, where it’s not practical to call out a hot box, but a permanent repair is required. PermaFyx L273 provides a professional finish replicating a hot-lay asphalt, blending into the surrounding surface and meets all requirements for use on highways. No compaction is required as the product is applied by trowel and chemically cures within 30 minutes with no risk of rutting once cured. PermaFyx L273 is available in 3mm or 6mm grades.

LINELAZER ECO ES ROADLINER | E-POWERED SERIES | GROUND BREAKING INNOVATION | MEON
Meon have great pleasure in introducing the new, all electric ES RoadLiner. This isn’t exactly the start of the journey and definitely not the end, but it is the point at which we invite you, and indeed the whole highway sector, to join us. Confessedly, we are not die-hard environmentalists but we do support government, so when the current administration set out its stall for the reduction of carbon, we listened. Furthermore, when the funding of our sector became heavily reliant on being able to show effort in reducing carbon, something had to be done. Too often though, innovations flock to the new focus and previous hard won improvements can be lost. The 2 main features we were determined to hang on to whilst innovating for the environment were a) durability and b) safety. Safety – The machine needed to be safe for the operator, and capable of doing big jobs with a small support unit. It should be able to tackle urban works in tight locations. We wanted to avoid hot works. Which is the single biggest cause of incidents within the line marking industry and potential risk to the general public. Durability – Building a machine using proven engineering was essential. We chose to use Graco pump systems and drive train because of their proven reliability in the industry for over 30 years. A machine that had the ability to apply a range of marking types was key, from water and solvent based to two pack epoxy and, finally, a high performance MMA system. RoadLiner 570 - MMA Line Marking Case Study | East Riding CC
Meon have been working closely with East Riding, bringing a new technology to the table with the ‘RoadLiner 570’ Cold-applied MMA Road Marking System & Rapid Cure MMA Paint Technology, utilising this innovative new technology with the delivery of road marking. The innovative RoadLiner 570 cold-applied MMA paint technology offers an increase in road marking night time visibility by at least 100%. Wet night road marking visibility is a significant safety concern, again the RoadLiner MMA paint technology delivers significantly higher visibility in these conditions. Moving from a typical 35mcd on incumbent systems to over 100mcd. Giving a minimum uplift of over 300%. Studies have shown that clearly visible road markings in urban areas have significant impact on driving styles, making drivers feel more in control and subsequently increase safety. Additional test results showcase the RoadLiner MMA paint technology to have a massive improvement in line marking durability, compared to conventional road marking technology. A recent Turntable road-marking test system (RPA) result demonstrates a P7 certification, representing durability to withstand up to 4-million-wheel passes and maintaining high performance results throughout the test. Another key outcome in this technological advancement are that cold-applied road markings remove the need for hot-works and all associated safety risks for the operator - Delivering efficient cold-applied MMA road markings that set within 2 minutes at 20 degrees. The number one outcome of this collaboration is safer roads. - Key benefits: ✅ 86% reduction in CO2e emissions ✅ Increased safety for road users and workers ✅ 16% whole-life cost savings over 10 years Get in touch with the team today to learn more about this new innovative technology 👇 📞 02392 200 606 📩 mail@meonuk.com 🌐 https://www.meonuk.com 🌿 Project Highways Zero Campaign - https://netzerocarbonhighways.com/
