ICL operates two rock salt mines, located in Boulby, United Kingdom & Súria, Spain. We adopt continuous mining techniques for our salt with downstream crushing and sieving processes. Utilising a variety of sieve decks, we cover multiple international market standards. Through the addition of anti-caking agents, we provide our customers with a free-flowing product that’s ready to use as soon as frost is forecast. At ICL’s quays in Barcelona, Spain and Tees, United Kingdom, Panamax vessels can be loaded with capacities up to 24,000 metrics tons per day. ICL’s facilities in the ports are company owned. As a result, dependence on third parties is reduced to an absolute minimum We maintain strategic salt stockpiles throughout the UK which act as important supply hubs to service the needs of customers in all regions. This aids responsiveness and secures the services of local cluster supply chain partners, utilising local haulage contractors, thus supplementing the already extensive fleet operated by our nationwide haulage contractors.
